What is an Interview? Why should you get interviewed? Isn’t providing your prospective employer with credentials sufficient?
An interview is a crucial step to head towards your objective of employment, which in turn an opportunity for you to serve the purpose of your enhanced skills in the expertise of your choice honed over time. Putting aptly, it is a formal dialogue between you and a prospective employer. An employer calls or emails neither to scare you nor to let his company’s time go in vain. Instead, he does it with a view to reconsider your expertise by way of a face-to-face interaction.
The interviewer has a need to discuss your qualifications and proficiency to ensure that you fit in the company’s plan of action. If you don’t get selected, neither you will be benefited nor the employer, since the employer has to spend time and money again on later candidates.
Candidates should realize the fact that they should avoid doing things that end up with a negative impression, despite you perfectly suit the job. Most jobseekers, freshers and experienced are always frightened about the process of applying jobs, getting/receiving calls and how to success in further rounds. They are all confused about interview etiquettes like what to wear, how to behave and the appropriate way of answering in an interview.
Interview is held in many forms – it could be a panel (group of people) interview or one-to-one interview. Most interviews are held between the two. A candidate should be well-prepared for any type of interview and remember that they are not trying to interrogate you or scare you by their questions. All they want is to see, if you are right candidate for the job and could become an asset to the company.
